Former Four Corners Sheriff Endorses Republican Mark Ronchetti for Governor

Sheriff Christesen says Ronchetti is strong on crime, border security

Farmington, NM – The immediate past sheriff from the Four Corners region has endorsed Republican Mark Ronchetti in his run for Governor, saying he’s the best choice to tackle New Mexico’s growing crime problems and secure New Mexico’s southern border.

Sheriff Ken Christesen endorsed Ronchetti today and encouraged Republican primary voters to support and vote for him.

Christesen says border security is a means to stop crime throughout the state, “Mark understands that and has a plan to back up our Border Patrol with the New Mexico National Guard and to create a state-run Border Strike Force.”

“As a former New Mexico Sheriff, I’m proud to fully endorse Mark Ronchetti and I encourage New Mexicans to vote for Mark in the primary and general elections in the race for Governor of New Mexico,” says Christesen.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive the support of Sheriff Christesen,” says Ronchetti. “Ken has dedicated his entire career to fighting crime and corruption and keeping our families safe. His support means so much to me and I look forward to working with him to improve public safety throughout our state.”

Christesen spent his entire law enforcement career at the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, starting as a reserve deputy in January 1989. Christesen was hired as a patrol deputy a year later and started to work his way up the ranks. He was elected Sheriff of San Juan County in 2010 and served through 2018.
